6 ITEMS YOUR ENTRYWAY NEEDS:

  • RUGS - Help keep our homes clean by giving our shoes a place to land. They also let our guests enter, take a pause and take in the surroundings.

  • COAT RACK OR HOOKS - Coats need to be hung up, its as simple as that. Don’t force your guests to throw their coats on your sofa, chairs or the floor.

  • BENCH OR CONSOLE TABLE - Give a place to set your things and allow guests a place to gather themselves as the come in or leave.

  • SHOE TRAY/ BASKET / SHOE CABINET - If you want your guests to remove their shoes when they enter, have a clear place they can put their shoes.

  • MIRROR - Make your space bright and appear bigger for one, and two the obvious is to look at ourselves.

  • LIGHTING - Good lighting is important in any space. this can be overhead lighting, natural light, table lamps or used in combination.

Having clear touch points that make sense in that space is what really matters. A few advice tips I can give for any space is to never go all in on a trend and to have fun with the process and remember the finished design should always invoke a feeling of joy and comfort.
